Oh boy, I think this is a form of hazing...a standard practice when you join the dM family!

I feel like a bit of a uninvited guest on your blog. I found it when I was googling for Chongren info. (We brought our Chongren daughter home last November.) Congrats on the new addition to your family! Your posts have made me very sentimental...

I just wanted to offer a comment on the poop thing--our daughter was already potty trained at 9 months. Judging from the photos we got from the SWI of babies lined up in potty chairs, I believe that a lot of the babies there are. As per the SWI nanny's instructions, we put our daughter on the toilet and said "shh, shh" to tinkle and "baa baa mmmm" to poop. We were skeptical when we fist tried it but it totally worked! (We have hardly changed a poopy diaper in over a year--which is VERY nice...) It may be possible that you daugher is waiting to be put on the toilet to poop! And be warned that saying those words are a command, not a question. We made the mistake of asking "shh, shh?" while we were taking her diaper off on the hotel bed--and we got an immediate response...and a very wet bed!

Best wishes to you and your peanut-
